Bright Dipping of brass is a restoration process which cleans and polishes brass tarnished from other operations. This process is available in both rack and barrel applications.
At Whitaker Finishing we have a brass Bright Dip line. We can process the most delicate brass parts through our line which includes an automated drying process. We have rack or barrel processes needed for the Bright dipping of brass and copper.
Whitaker also provides copper strip services. We can remove copper coatings after heat treat, or for any other reason. After the heat treating process, we can safely remove the copper plating electrically without damaging the substrate underneath. Our electrochemical process strips metal that is electroplated or electroless plated without impacting the base metal. Our Copper Stripper is an electrical copper stripper with the exceptional ability to throw into very deep recesses.
At Whitaker Finishing our passivation techniques work to protect your stainless steel parts.
Passivation is the removal of exogenous iron or iron compounds from the surface of stainless steel by means of a chemical dissolution, most typically by a treatment with an acid solution that will remove the surface contamination but will not significantly affect the stainless steel itself. Contaminants, if not removed, are potential corrosion sites which will result in the deterioration of the part. The process also facilitates the formation of a thin, transparent oxide film which protects the stainless steel part.
